Sarah Economidy My career started in 1991 at the age of 18 in the field of cosmetic surgery. My father risked everything to start his own business, selling everything he could for aesthetic plastic surgery equipment. I attended my first trade show at 19 in Washington, DC where I met pioneers of plastic surgery from around the world. I immersed myself in educational workshops, learning from one of the best physicians in the industry. It was a very exciting experience, traveling for ten months of the year as a senior sales associate. In 1996, I was licensed as an aesthetician. I specialized in post-operative laser wound care. I worked with leading aestheticians and physicians from Australia to facilitate workshops for educating nurses and aestheticians in all treatments of post-operative skin care.

Skin care became a passion for me, having suffered myself with severe cystic acne since early youth. I searched for solutions and seemingly tried everything with minimal results. I trudged the road of DO’s and DONT’s for many years to heal my skin and restore my sanity and self-worth. Finally, I met a dermatologist by the name of James Fulton, M.D., who had a PhD in Chemistry and had been afflicted with acne himself. He became my guru and changed my life and understanding, completely transforming my skin disease! The invaluable education I received set me on a path for helping others and gave me a sense of purpose. I will always sympathize with people who feel embarrassed because of skin disorders!

Soon afterwards, I left sales and went on to practice skin care at Greenspring Rejuvenation Clinic with Dr. Cadoux. While there, I was able to help treat and heal many types of medical skin dilemmas by doing endermologic body toning treatments. It was great fun and I really enjoyed the medical setting.

I then moved to San Antonio, TX to work at a skin rejuvenation clinic with founder Tina Zillman whose vision for paramedical skin care was akin to my own. I managed a second location in the beautiful Hill Country of Boerne, TX. After the 9/11 event, I wanted to move back to Tucson to be closer to my parents.

I decided to open my own skin care studio called Legends Advanced Skin Care Practices in a local salon there. I took a risk and it really paid off! Business was amazing! I was blessed with over 300 clients and was so privileged to be a part of those peoples’ lives. I loved watching all the hair stylists and knew that was something I also wanted to do!.

When my parents retired to Albuquerque, I wanted to be close to them. New Mexico was a big transition for me. I decided now would be the time to live my other dream of learning how to do hair and start a new life for my daughter and myself. Four years ago, I got my license to do hair and I am having a blast! I have had the pleasure of assisting some amazing talent in the hair industry. Coloring is one of my favorite skills–to be able to transform someone’s look and boost their self-confidence. I specialize in clipper cuts for Men’s hair, including flat tops, skin fades, and blowout tapers. I’m so excited to be here at the Neilmarie Salon where I can bloom into the hair artist I have wanted to be for so long and bring my many years of skin care experience (including chemical peels and microdermabrasion) to this talented and focused group of professionals!
