About
After 15 years in the Salon Industry, Cecilia Lucero, a single mother, decided to fulfill one of her many dreams; Neilmarie Salon opened its doors on October 8, 1992 through much work, tenacity, and planning. Cecilia spent a great deal of time attending classes in business at TVI Community College and seminars with a salon-leading educator, Michael Cole, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Cecilia has been very involved in her community from the first day of her business opening, from facilitating and coordinating local charity events such as Teen Challenge, to giving generously of her time and money to other charitable foundations such as The Children’s All Faith Home and Cuidado Los Ninos. Cecilia has taught for community centers, beauty colleges, and the Department of Energy’s “Expand Your Horizon” program at the University of New Mexico for four years. She also has attended the Landmark Education Seminars for six years of intense studying of psychology, and took classes on Generational Diversity at PNM.
With the great desire to master her trade, Cecilia has continued to attend numerous classes, seminars, and symposiums, including two Toni & Guy seminars in Dallas. She spent over 100 hours with her favorite educator, Hans Wolf, from Austria, who has trained educators for KMS (a professional product company).
Cecilia was selected to be an educator through R. Stafford (a distributor in Denver, Colorado) for KMS. Two years later, she educated for the product company, Goldwell. Cecilia was featured in R. Stafford’s magazine as a person of interest and influence; received one of twenty national awards/trophies at a San Francisco symposium for the category, “Attitude in Action”; and was awarded for her educational abilities to a three-day spa-filled treatment off Lake George at a resort in Boulder Landing, New York. Cecilia’s training for KMS and Goldwell has allowed her to visit many cities in as many as twelve states. Her task was to educate professionals about the companies’ products and the new-trend releases including hair cutting, styling, and coloring. New Mexico was her territory to educate. Cecilia loved this position, but after fifteen years, she was ready for the change of giving another the opportunity to educate. Cecilia had more than met all the goals she had set for herself, and was ready to set new ones.
Among many passions in her life, Cecilia expresses a great love for art, not only as an artist, but also as an enthusiast. She has sold art of all mediums through shows, commissions, and her salon. Opening her own business has allowed her to combine her interests. Neilmarie Salon has and always will be a place where artists–young, old, experienced, or not–can display their pieces to the public in a forum more beneficial to them than any gallery allows.
Neilmarie Salon is all about every individual who walks through our doors–whether customers, passersby, or employees. Our future pledge is to continue to hold those individual values close to our hearts. And to assure that we provide exemplary service, leaving a smile on all those who walk out our doors!
